The Review Guideline takes effect on all reviews from December 25th 2017 onward.
Story-line – the world, story, and writing that elevates a game beyond a set of mechanics.
Presentation – the visuals, player feedback, and all audio including sound effects, soundtracks, and any voice acting.
Game-Play– the general game feel, pacing, decision making, depth, mechanics, and interplay between elements.
Value – the total time quantity of experience being offered for your hard earned cash and the quality of the play hours.
VR – How good are the VR features, motion controls etc
Not every game will have every category, Some for example have no story, thus Story-line would be irrelevant.
The scale system works as a 0.0 to 10.0 and should allow you to get a quick break down of a game feature with ease.
0: Broken – This aspect is so bad it does not function.
1: Very bad – lowest score possible for something not broken.
2: Poor –
3: Adequate –
4: Below Average –
5: Average – For things that are not good or bad.
6: Above Average – a 6 or above is ok
7: Good –
8: Very Good – Can easily be recommended.
9: Fantastic – Can be recommended with out question.
10: Must play – Highest rating I can give (not to be confused with perfect, no game is perfect)
Note all my reviews are honest and fair regardless of means of procurement. I believe it is a reviews job to provide the reader with their 100% honest opinion of the game so the reader can make an informed decision.
Note: This review system is the same as I learnt on another site, it is subject to change and refinement however I found it to work well so have adopted it.
