When you think Nintendo, you can be excused for thinking of cute fluffy characters and games aimed at the younger market. However, with the Switch Nintendo are changing that. We have already had Doom and Skyrim from Bethesda Studios, which I have not personally been able to, try but have heard great things about. May 25th will see Dark Souls Remastered arriving on the Nintendo Switch I can not think of any game less aimed at the younger market.
On the Switch, the remastered edition will run at 1080p 30fps when docked. No news as yet on portable mode though I would guess 720p. Meanwhile Dark Souls Remastered will run at 4k 60fps on PC, Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. I am unsure if I will go for the portability of the switch version or the 4k visuals of the PS4 Pro, Bandai Namco have given us gamers a tough choice!
Dark Souls game series is often classed as an incredibly hard set of games. The only way to succeed, I am told, is to learn the attacks and weaknesses of each enemy. In most games death is nothing more than a minor setback, in Dark Souls it can be devastating. TheDaveStream recommends that you remember at all times the pad/switch costs too much to throw!
Although as I say Nintendo products conjure up images of family friendly and young people games, at nearly 40 years old I enjoy my Switch fully. Zelda has to be one of the best RPG games I have played and Vostok Inc (review coming soon) is very addictive.
